Georgia’s Statewide Leadership in EdTech Interoperability

Georgia has firmly established itself as a national leader in ed ucational technology interoperability, primarily driven by its strategic statewide partnership with the 1EdTech Consortium. This collaboration is foundational to the state's goal of creating a seamless, "plug-and-play" digital ecosystem that enhances data privacy and streamlines the use of digital tools. Through this initiative, all Georgia school districts gain access to powerful resources, including certifications that ensure different systems can work together and the TrustEd Apps Dashboard for vetting app security and privacy. The Georgia Department of Education further showcases its leadership with its innovative, award-winning SuitCASE platform, which manages and distributes state learning standards.

This platform's advanced tools enable the easy integration of Georgia's educational standards into various local learning management systems. The profound effect of this state-level guidance is evident in the successes of local school systems. For example, Fayette County Schools leveraged the partnership to manage its numerous edtech tools more effectively. Similarly, Henry County Schools utilized the state's resources to build a highly interoperable and private digital ecosystem. These local successes demonstrate how Georgia’s leadership directly empowers districts to overcome technological challenges. Ultimately, this cohesive strategy ensures that educators and students across the state benefit from a more secure and efficient digital learning environment.
