The Michigan Data Hub: A Retrospective Study
A decade after the initial ROI projections, this retrospective study evaluates the actual impact of the Michigan Data Hub (MiDataHub) on district operations and taxpayer value. With a total state investment of over $23.7 million, the study analyzes how MiDataHub has effectively lowered the cost of data management. Findings show that while a standard data integration costs an average of $7,532, a MiDataHub-supported integration is nearly 50% more efficient at $3,711. With an annual investment of approximately $4.96 million—or just $3.47 per student—this report provides a data-driven look at how MiDataHub has transformed initial ROI estimates into tangible savings for Michigan school districts.
