Commissioned by the Nebraska Legislature and the Department of Education, this comprehensive study assesses the adequacy of state education data systems in providing timely, accurate, and actionable information. Based on input from over 200 education leaders, the report evaluates the costs and interrelationships between teaching, administrative, and back-office systems. It concludes with specific recommendations and a strategic five-year roadmap to modernize Nebraska’s data infrastructure, moving toward a system that better supports teacher insights, policy formation, and public accountability.
